Empowerment shoots are for everyone. No matter the gender, colour, size, shape we all deserve to feel empowered, comfortable and loved in our bodies. It was such a pleasure to work with Ardon for this special shoot celebrating his journey to self love. Such stunning results! x
xThe 1970s vibe has my heart and I was so fortunate to find the perfect location and model to create this vintage style shoot in Port Waikato, Auckland. We managed to put together the perfect outfits for the perfect backdrop before moving down to the ocean to make these ethereal goddess inspired shots. This is just a small selection of what were able to capture on the day. You can see a couple of these images on gracing the walls Karangahape Road. x It's been a long time, but I'm still a little in love with this gorgeous baby shoot. It was a breeze to work with new parents Jason and Kylie in their home in Auckland one sunny afternoon. Doing shoots at home means it's easy to get tired babies in the right time frame and is less stress for the parents. My mostly documentary style means I am able to capture the candid, real moments with a few happy posed pictures for the grandparents thrown in. A few pictures to treasure forever. x
A body is a work of art and that deserves to be celebrated. I loved working with the beautiful Jane on a stunning west coast beach to capture her beautiful, powerful and art-covered body. Empowerment shoots are all about capturing an essence of power, making people feel good and learning to accept and love their bodies in whatever form that may be. We are all a little different, so why not celebrate that by making some beautiful images to remember.
It's hard to beat a stunning golden hour shoot when thinking about maternity photos. Aimee and I shot in a stunning location on the east coast of Auckland. We were so lucky to get such beautiful lighting on this gorgeous evening. Even if we did get a few sea lice bites in the process! Aimee later submitted these images into the "Bump & Me" magazine photography competition and our photo won a full spread in the mag and a whole load of awesome mum-to-be prizes for Aimee. Congrats to the beautiful mama.
It's always an honour to work with other creatives to make their visions for personal branding a reality. This simple, relaxed and easy at-home portrait shoot has been published all over NZ and international media as Ghazaleh Golbakhsh's book was released as a smash hit. As a writer, director and actress, this talented wahine can do it all. Check out some of her work here.
Pregnancy is a truly incredible time, and what your body goes through is kind of mind blowing. I love working with people who are experiencing the power and strength of what their bodies go through during pregnancy. And helping them to capture that feeling in photos, for generations to come with a maternity photoshooot. There's not many things worth celebrating more than the miracle of life! x
My first Auckland empowerment shoot for 2021 was with beautiful model Comfort. Having to drastically rearrange life in 2020 pushed me in a new direction as a photographer, and by the end of it I was suddenly sure of what I was meant to be doing. So it was an honor to shoot my first focused empowerment photo shoot with Comfort in New Zealand. I really felt like I had found my calling, and this was the first of many shoots I would be doing in 2021. These empowerment shoots not only empower the model, but leave me feeling empowered as a photographer too. I love to see the power of diversity shine through my lens. x
It was such a pleasure to work with the beautiful pin up queen Andrea for this boudoir shoot. The Olivia Coleman lookalike made such a fabulous model for our empowerment shoot it was hard to pick my favourite shots. This fierce example of body love and positivity rocked all her most stunning lingerie and vintage wares for our special photoshoot. Want to make some photography magic with me in New Zealand?
